Folsom 5th 2024 – Ward Mission Plan

By small and simple things are great things brought to pass"

Ward Goal: every member of the Folsom 5th Ward has a missionary experience through loving, sharing or inviting a less-active member or non-member each month.

The below ideas can be used at any time in conjunction with the provided monthly suggestions to love, share, and invite. 

LOVE - God and our neighbors

1.   Love God

a.            Encourage personal study of the Book of Mormon and Come Follow Me Curriculum, in addition to dailypersonal & family prayer

i.           "As your understanding of the Atonement grows, your desire to share the gospel will increase(Preach My Gospel, Chapter 1)."

2.   Show Christlike love & Service to our neighbors

a.            Take a treat to a neighbor you think may appreciate a friend

b.            Think of a member who hasn’t been to church in a while, or having a hard time and send them a text to letthem know you are thinking about them

c.            Make a goal to perform a certain number of Random Acts of Service a week

Share - the Gospel of Jesus Christ

1.   Share a favorite message from general conference on social media

2.   Share a church video or message on social media

3.   Submit a review on Yelp for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints so when people search for a church in our area there are positive reviews of our church)

4.   Share important religious events over social media and include your feelings about them ie; baptism of a child, blessing of a baby, Temple Wedding, giving a talk in Sacrament meeting, receiving a new calling, etc.

Invite - our neighbors to be with us

1.   Invite friends to non-member friendly church activities (i.e. Primary Easter party, 4th of July breakfast, Pioneer Day festivities, Trunk or Treat, The Live Nativity, Ward Christmas Party

2.   Invite friends to a picnic dinner at Temple Hill

3.   Invite a less active member of the ward to do something social – go on walk, to lunch.

4.   Invite a less active member of the ward to attend a church activity with you and your family.
