By small and simple things are great things brought to pass"

Ward Goal: every member of the Folsom 5th Ward has a missionary experience through loving, sharing or inviting a less-active member or non-member each month.

The below ideas can be used at any time in conjunction with the provided monthly suggestions to love, share, and invite.

LOVE - God and our neighbors

1. Love God

a. Encourage personal study of the Book of Mormon and Come Follow Me Curriculum, in addition to dailypersonal & family prayer

i. "As your understanding of the Atonement grows, your desire to share the gospel will increase(Preach My Gospel, Chapter 1)."

2. Show Christlike love & Service to our neighbors

a. Take a treat to a neighbor you think may appreciate a friend

b. Think of a member who hasn’t been to church in a while, or having a hard time and send them a text to letthem know you are thinking about them

c. Make a goal to perform a certain number of Random Acts of Service a week

Share - the Gospel of Jesus Christ

1. Share a favorite message from general conference on social media

2. Share a church video or message on social media

3. Submit a review on Yelp for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints so when people search for a church in our area there are positive reviews of our church)

4. Share important religious events over social media and include your feelings about them ie; baptism of a child, blessing of a baby, Temple Wedding, giving a talk in Sacrament meeting, receiving a new calling, etc.

Invite - our neighbors to be with us

1. Invite friends to non-member friendly church activities (i.e. Primary Easter party, 4th of July breakfast, Pioneer Day festivities, Trunk or Treat, The Live Nativity, Ward Christmas Party

2. Invite friends to a picnic dinner at Temple Hill

3. Invite a less active member of the ward to do something social – go on walk, to lunch.

4. Invite a less active member of the ward to attend a church activity with you and your family.

Ward Mission Plan Extended Ideas

As we seek to know what the Lord would have us do, we will hear Him in how

He would have us accomplish the work of salvation through Missionary work.

Below are some inspired ideas and goals to help you Love, Share & Invite

Love

· Prayerfully seek guidance and inspiration for ways you can love friends, neighbors, family members, ministering brothers & sisters and other acquaintances. Serve and pray for them often

· Show love for others in the community by visiting JustServe.org and participating in service opportunities that help you interact with others of all faiths

· Be intentional about getting to know your neighbors- make a goal to always say hollow to neighbors and use their names and find out more about their lives

· Ask an acquaintance out for lunch and get to know them better

· Deliver a meal or cookies to someone you learn is going through

· Text a friend something you are grateful for about them

· Send a thank you card for a small act of kindness you appreciate

· Reach out to your ministering brother/sister and find a way to let them know you are thinking of them

SHARE

· Share your beliefs and values by following Church social media accounts and sharing inspirational quotes, inspirational videos, or news of the Church

· Share a favorite message from General Conference or this month’s Come Follow Me on social media

· Share links to online life help resources the Church offers, such as employment help, financial tools, the Addiction Recovery Program, and affordable education through BYU-Pathway Worldwide.

· Submit a review on Yelp for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints so when people search for a church in our area there are positive reviews of our Church

· Share an important religious event (past or present) over social media and include your feelings about the event i.e; baptism of a child, blessing of a baby, Temple Sealing, giving a talk, etc.

INVITE

· Invite friends to participate with you in Church or neighborhood service projects and opportunities

· Invite others to attend Relief Society Primary, Youth and other ward activities with your OR join neighborhood book clubs, mother’s groups, exercise and sports activities, and fun family activities.

· Invite a friend to attend a child’s or adult’s baptism with you.

· Invite someone to visit the Family History Library’s live or online Family Discovery Experience or FamilySearch.org to learn more about their ancestors

· Invite a less active member of the ward to do something social – go on a walk, to lunch, etc

· Minister to your brothers/sisters by inviting them and their family to do something fun with you and your family
