2024 Folsom 5th Ward Temple and Family History Plan
“Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths;” (2 Nephi 12:3)
Help ward members receive the blessings of temple covenants by
● Emphasizing the importance of being bound to Jesus Christ through covenants and talking about the blessings of frequent temple worship in church meetings.
● Discussing temple covenants made in the endowment and blessings from covenants made in the temple in YM/YW classes, senior primary classes, elders quorum and relief society, and sacrament meetings.
● Holding temple prep courses with specific ward members as directed by the bishop with inputs from the ward council.
● Coordinating with the Primary leaders to prepare 10 and 11 year olds for temple attendance by providing extra lessons and preparation for them during their final year in Primary.
Encourage everyone to worship in the Temple often by
● Creating 1-2 ward temple worship experiences per year to bring people to the temple who wouldn’t normally attend.
● Providing opportunities to share Temple and Family History experiences in classes and quorums.
Include everyone in Family History research by
● Allowing our youth to have opportunities to lead and teach about Temple and Family History work.
● Use the Stake and Family Search Library resources to help ward members learn about how to find their ancestors who need ordinances completed in the temple.
